Road trip from Haridwar – May 2026
20degrees temperature drop in celcius – we were in luck to discover Chakrata. When we were reeling under scorching heat of Haridwar, just a 4 hour drive (140kms) took us to this magical offbeat location which was literally empty on weekdays.
Day 1
Stay
Days were pleasant and nights cold – our experience was taken a notch higher by the warm hospitality of Pradeep and Kushi Ram. We planned to stay for 2 nights and ended up staying for 4. Pradeep is a great chef and cooked scrumptious meals everytime we ordered. Kushi Ram excelled at service and he was our go to man – he was our trekking guide, he arranged bonfire for us every evening and he took us on a trip to his home in Mohna village.
