Today, due to lack of network I could not capture my thoughts while on the trip, so I am doing it offline in the evening. We started our day from our home stay East Stavanger and our host Ratheesh, as he has been doing last four days he suggested us one more route via Viripara Waterfalls. He also recommended us stores for spices and chocolates purchase.
This whole stretch was full of Cardamom plantation we were like so amused to see so many cardamom plants everywhere – where ever you can see it was cardamom plants.
Awesome scenes on our drive from Anaviratty to Viripara waterfalls.

Viripara Waterfalls Area – Hit
The waterfall itself was pretty ordinary but boy o boy – the views that we saw afterwards blew our mind away.
Just a little bit before Viripara waterfalls the cardamom plantation stopped and suddenly right after that, tea plantations (Kallar Estate) started and just after waterfall the views ware pretty ordinary but the but the scenery that we saw after water falls was really different than usual one here.
It was like some grasslands. Attached some of the pictures below and those are really different as if someone has painted it and this is definitely that one should go, skip the touristy crowded places and travel towards it.

From Munnar – we have to come to Anaviratty area, we can take detour on Viripara waterfall and then via Kallar Estate, it will take you through this route to Munnar town. We reached the Munnar town in the evening after crossing five o’clock and our plan was to go Lockhart Gap Road once more till the Anaiyarankal Dam but we it was almost 5 when we reached. But still we went to drive like till 5 km and even today Gap Road mesmerised us with the amazing sunset views with all the tea Gardens and the mountains. The clouds were not there today and we fell in love with the Gap Road plantations and equal amazing even if had seen it before but today also it look like wonderful. 🙂

We sat on the roadside till the sunset soaking in the nature’s beauty. Around 7 o’clock, we started back to Munnar town and there is a famous South Indian restaurant call Guru Bhawan – very cheap and very fast service – very authentic food. We had dinner over there and then we went back to our new our stay for the night. We had checked out from East Stavanger in the morning because tomorrow we are travelling to Kollam and we wanted to avoid some bad roads on that way due to road construction underway then. Today we wanted to keep it easy from the driving perspective. We are staying near to the highway. Homestay it is – on the same road and around 10 km from Munnar town.
