Alright alright, today we are starting our journey from Coorg to Nagarhole Tiger Reserve and from there on, we plan to go to Ooty. I’ll keep you posted if I see any tigers in Naharhole Tiger reserve 🙂
Nagarhole Tiger reserve – Hit
Although Nagarhole has the third largest number of tigers in all tiger reserves of India, we were not lucky enough to spot a tiger this time. All we saw was a group of deer at a few spots. Nagarhole does have the bus-safari option couple of times in the day. Chances of spotting a tiger would be likely higher on a safari where the vehicle takes you through the narrow lanes and mud roads in the interiors of the jungle. We were travelling by our car which can only cover the main roads between exit points. We entered from Veeranahosahalli (northern side gate) and exited from Kutta (western side gate). There is one more gate on the eastern side at Antharasanthe.
Wayanad – Hit
From Coorg, within no time, you will get Wayanad on the way. Wayanad is stunningly beautiful and the complete landscape around Wayanad and the surrounding areas are just WOW. The view are picture perfect – vibrant with so many colours.

We were truly mesmerised by the beauty of Wayanad.
By the time we reached Ooty, it was already very late. We had dinner found a hotel to spend the night and dozed off.
Dinner – Hotel Darshan
Day 2 – Ooty
We got up with excitement to see the beauty of Ooty. We stared driving towards Conoor. We were looking for a good serene place to have breakfast and that is how we laned at Hotel Tamil Nadu, Conoor.
We inquired there about “places to see” and zeroed in on Avalanche lake.
Awesome south Indian breakfast at Hotel Tamil Nadu, Conoor – Hit
There are some moments which make us realise how grateful we are to be even alive and see these mesmerising landscapes. I feel that even a diseased person can get cured by just seeing these sights – how beautiful these are.

All these amazing landscapes were the surprise element on our drive to the Avalanche lake.
After and 1 hour 30 minutes drive from Coonoor to Avalanche Lake, we have reached the location. Last shift of 3 km or something was very pretty. To reach the lake from the parking, one needs to walk for 15 mins – the walk is also amazing – there’s a river flowing next to the walkway track path and we have to walk on that.
Mostly it is cloudy today we are just hoping and keeping our fingers crossed that once we reach the lake, we should have a little bit of sunshine and then it gonna be awesome. When it is all dark and cloudy, we dont get to see all the vibrant colours – which the rays of bright sunshine can only create.
The complete drive from Ooty to Avalanche lake started with beautiful landscape and how beautiful it was – we couldn’t even capture in the images It was so beautiful that the pictures were not doing justice to what we were looking front of us.
Avalanche Lake – Hit
The beauty of Avalanche lake begins

When I have been to Ooty before but we just did some touristy points in the city and that was it. This time we have tried to do something which is not overly crowded we are getting rewarded by choosing this plan.
After seeing the breathtaking scenery of Avalanche Lake we could not return to city in time before sunset so, we thought to cover some more things to see around that area itself.
Emerald Lake – Hit
We thought of visiting Emerald lake which is nearby the Avalanche lake area. Just a few minutes by car.
And we are getting richly rewarded we just came to Emerald Day. This looks equally stunning and here you can directly come by your car there is no need to park and walk.
